Photo Bookmark & Quiz Insert

David went to Russia this month (as I mentioned in my last post). He's been twice before, and it gets a little easier to have him gone each time he goes (FaceTime helps tremendously). We still missed him, though, and I knew he would miss us bunches, so I made him a little something to take with him on his journey. He loves to read, and has been known to fly with two or three library books in tow (LIBRARY books, people... and hardback ones, no less). So, anyway... of course, I made him a bookmark! I did these in Photoshop, printed them on my inket printer, cut them out, taped them together (so it would have a front and a back), "laminated" it with clear packing tape, punched a hole in the top, and tied on a ribbon. He loved it! :)

Braden took that picture of me as part of his Summer Photography Camp for Kids.

Do you think Cameron will be a trouble-maker when he's a teenager? I'm trying not to worry.

I also did a new insert for my Project Life album. I had interviewed the boys during the first week of January, asking about all their favorite things, but never did anything with the journaling until this week. I'm taking the Grammar-Free Journaling Class by Angie Lucas at Big Picture Classes right now.

One of the assignments is to use a quiz as the journaling. I immediately thought of this little interview! :)

Here's the "layout" I did for the class, and then how it will look as an insert in my album below.

Here's a link to the original post about this spread (minus the insert) back in January: Week One. And here's where I talked about how I'm going to make the inserts work in a Shutterfly photobook: Digital Insert. Basically, I'll upload the insert pages with extra space in the outside margin, and then trim off that excess when I receive the printed book. I also add a piece of real tape to the cut edge to serve as a tab. :)

I'm so glad to have found a home for these sweet lists in my album. I may be doing another one soon as Braden's 3rd grade teacher just assigned an "All About Me" poster (a.k.a. "scrapbook page!"). Fun, fun! :)
