In the last few days, I have removed the door from our closet, installed a replacement child safety latch on a cabinet door, and successfuly disassembled a computer mouse, removed the cord, and reassembled it! I know... you're probably thinking, "big whoop." I don't usually do that kind of stuff, though, so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself! :) I don't have any pictures, but here's why I did all that stuff.
1. I removed the door to our master bed/bath closet because it was in the way. We always leave it open because there's no ventilation in the closet. If you shut the door, it gets really hot and stuffy in the summer (and really cold in the winter). The little room for the toilet is right next to it, and also has a door. The doors would bang into each other if you opened them both at the same time. Now, we can open the toilet room door all the way and leave it open (also no a/c vent in there), and it's not in the way. I haven't decided what I'm going to do do cover up the bare wood where the door hinges were. We may just paint it, but I'm considering some sort of curtain.
2. Cameron has been getting into the one kitchen cabinet that had a broken child saftey lock, and of course, it would be the one with all the cleaners in it. I had asked David to fix it, but he grumbled about having to "do everything" on Saturday morning (he really does do a LOT), so I decided I could do it. And I did (much to Cameron's displeasure).
3. Cameron is constantly trying to play with the computer, so I found an old mouse in the desk drawer and gave it to him. One problem - the cord. Braden thought it was fun to pull on the cord while Cameron was trying to play with the mouse. Cameron did not think that was fun. It was also a choking/strangulation hazard. So, I unscrewed the bottom, figured out how to remove the cord from the circuit board, and put it back together! Now, Cameron can clicky clicky to his delight, and Braden can't pull it away from him by surprise. Sorry, B.
