It's Official...

I get to teach first grade!!! Yippee!!! Don't get me wrong, you parents of former second-graders who read my blog, I LOVED teaching second grade, too. :) I'm just ready for a new challenge, and I really think this is where God wants me to be! Only 41 days until the first day of school!!! I type that with an excited "woo-hoo!" and a slightly panicky "oh-no!" I have so much to do before then! Yikes!

I also signed Cameron up at a preschool today. It's the one I had in mind before (only 2.5 miles from my school), and they actually had a spot for him! If you've ever signed kids up for preschool, you know that enrollment usually opens in early spring, so getting a spot in July can be a real challenge. This is just one more example of how God had this planned for us all along. We just have to trust Him and go where He leads!

I also found out today that I'll be teaching 4th and 5th grade Recorder one afternoon a week. David is excited about that - he used to love playing the recorder. I'll have to check one out from school and learn how to play it before I start teaching the class. Ha! Don't worry... I played trumpet in marching band for over ten years. I can do it. It will be fun, and I'll get to teach some of my former second grade students (if they sign up to take the Recorder elective)!

I am really excited!

  1. You are moving down and I am moving up to third grade. I made it through second and learned so much. I guess God doesn't like me to get comfortable seeing as though I have never had the opportunity to teach the same grade. I am excited for you.
