I am so proud of Braden for learning to ride his bike! It really amazes me how quickly he picked it up. It rained almost every day last week, so he didn't get in a whole lot of practice. He went out and rode in the rain one day (we went back inside when I heard thunder), and he had so much fun! He loves to go as fast as he can and then slam on the brakes, skidding to a stop. We have skid marks all over our driveway. Apparently, it's extra fun in the rain. When David got home from work, I told him that Braden had been out there doing donuts (he practically was), and David just beamed. It's funny what makes a daddy proud. :) We're shopping for a big boy bike now (a 16-incher). Braden looks funny on his little 12-inch bike. Now that he's got the whole balancing thing figured out, it's time to move up.
David is still recovering from his wipe-out. He's got a lot of shoulder pain that keeps him from sleeping comfortably, and a HUGE gnarly bruise on his upper thigh. I took pictures, but I'll spare you. We actually thought his collar bone might be broken because of the hard lump on the top of his shoulder, but an X-ray on Friday showed nothing broken (thank goodness!). Hopefully time will heal!
I finally posted the last of the "Details" from our Fourth of July Weekend. Scroll down to the Fireworks post to read all about it. :)
