Snowman!

Braden's school was cancelled today, so I took him outside this morning during Cameron's nap to play in the snow (we got even more last night and early this morning). We decided to try to build a snowman, and gathered all the supplies before heading out.

Braden wanted a carrot for the nose (we only had baby carrots), olives for the eyes (good thinking!), and I suggested pretzels for the mouth. We grabbed an old hat and scarf, and got busy working.

David was right about the snow being very powdery. It was hard to make it stick together. Our next door neighbors built a nice snowman, and I don't know how they did it. I think they must have sprayed water on it, or something.

We succeeded in making a snow mound, so we accessorized it, and called it good. We put just one pretzel for the mouth, and I said it looked like he was saying, "OH! I'm melting!" :) Braden got a big kick out of that.

I just need to remember to buy Braden some real snow gloves the next time I'm at Walmart. His hands were freezing in his little Spider-man sweater mittens.

  1. Well, even though the snow wouldn't stick to make "body-balls," the mound worked out well. Cute. :-)
