Cameron's First Haircut

I have been debating for a few weeks whether or not to cut Cameron's hair. His baby hair on top never fell out and went through a phase of sticking straight up like a mohawk until it got long enough to weigh itself down. I had it in my head that I wanted to wait until his first birthday to cut his hair. No real rhyme or reason behind that, it just seemed like the logical thing to do. We would go to Ms. Shannon's on his first birthday, I would take pictures of his first haircut, and it would make for a lovely scrapbook page.

Well... The poor kid has had an ear infection, and it looked like his hair was really bothering him. It was long enough to get stuck in his ears, and the top hung down in his face and got in his eyes. Sunday evening, I decided enough was enough. We devised a plan of putting him in the bathtub in just his diaper to make for easy cleanup, while David did the haircutting honors. That didn't go so well. David held him still long enough to chop off his bangs, and make me immediately regret the whole idea. So, we put him in the high chair, and I attempted damage control.

Mind you, I have never cut hair in my entire life (well, unless the you count the few times I shaved David's head for him with the clippers before he started doing it himself with a razor). Anyway, David held Cameron still while I tried my best to picture Ms. Shannon cutting Braden's hair, and tried to do the same thing. It was a little scary, and I had to keep reminding myself that it was no big deal, it would grow back, Ms. Shannon could maybe possibly fix it if it looked really horrible, and it would all be OK!

It's not perfect, but I think it actually turned out pretty good!
