Braden is starting Pre-K in the fall at a new school, and apparently is looking forward to it. This morning, he told me that he was excited to get to go to a new school and shared this little story:
"I'm excited to go to a new school in the fall! Yesterday, Johnny* was pretending he was a monster and he just punched me in the stomach and pushed me down and I fell down and I cried! I was just laying there flat as a pancake, and Ms. Amiee said, 'are you OK?' and came over there and told me to get up, but I was just really crying. Do you want a jelly bean?"
I love his descriptive language - "flat as a pancake" - and how quickly he changed the subject at the end. :)
*fictitious name
P.S. I asked Braden to retell the story to David, and he said, "I can't remember because it's in my head! Only if it's in my hand or my arm, then I can remember. I didn't know that when I was 2, but now I do!"
Too, cute.
