InstaFriday | Branson, Baseball, Buddy, & Bungee

InstaFriday is here again! Here's our week via Instagram:


David and I had a weekend away while the boys stayed with Nanny & Paw Paw. David decided to try a LifeWater Yumberry Pomegranate drink on the way there. He said it was more like "Yuckberry." Ha. The drive to Branson was pretty with the sun peeking through storm clouds.


We had several "cheat" meals in celebration of David's fitness challenge win. I've said, "Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!" a lot this week. :) He still found ways to workout even though he was away from the gym. I don't know what those crazy inverted push-ups are called. One of our goals for the weekend was shopping for new clothes since most of David's clothes are too big now. We had fun. It was so nice to just be together and have time to ourselves.


When it was time to pick the boys up, they were not happy to see us. Cameron marched over to us with a scowl on his face, and said, "I am NOT going home!" Turns out Paw Paw had said they could play outside until we got there (at a rest stop), and we got there too soon. :) They were happy when we said they could still play for a bit. We've had a few rabbits in our backyard lately. The boys love watching them out the window. It's a good thing we don't have a garden.


Braden had two baseball games this week. He got on base, and finally got to cross home plate (he's stealing second in that first picture). His team is a crazy bunch of boys. They are undefeated, and are currently the only team in the league to score over 100 runs!


This is our beagle, Buddy. We got him when he was a puppy in 2001 (the second year we were married). Buddy passed away Tuesday night. It was unexpected. David noticed he was moving a little slower than usual, and then he didn't want to get up to come inside Tuesday evening (very unlike him). David let him keep resting outside, and told me that he didn't know if Buddy would make it through the night. Sadly, he was right. The boys were both very sad when we told them the next morning. It has sparked lots of questions about death and heaven, and I honestly don't know how to answer some of them. :( We're praying for wisdom.


On a happier note, yesterday was our last day of school. A terrific, sweet, awesome mama stood at the exit and cheered for every student and family as they crossed the finish line. It was a GREAT way to end the year. LOVE our school. The last day of school is always "Field Day," and they had a lot of fun stuff. Braden hurt his foot going down the big bouncy slide when we first got there, and had a stinky attitude after that. He pepped up when he did the bungee run with his friend, though, and then we went inside to help Kendra load up some stuff from her classroom. It was SO nice to spend a little time with her! :)

We had a full week. Now that school's out, we're working on our Summer List for 2013.
So thankful for this little family of mine. ❤
