Project Life: The College Years

I am sleepy! That's what late nights scrapbooking will do to you. Ha! :) I got to work on my physical Project Life album this weekend. I'm chronicling my college years (1994-2000). Here's the first spread for my Freshman Year:

I realized after I started working on it that I didn't have an acid free pen to use for the journaling! Some scrapbooker I am, huh? :) A trip to Hobby Lobby yesterday remedied that. While I was there, I was SO excited to see an empty section all ready for Project Life! They also had Snap albums and some other 3x4 journaling cards too.

I'm really hopeful that they'll carry all the different sized page protector inserts. I think I'm going to need some for this album. I want to include more stories, and I need more space to write (or I might type some and print them out). I also want to include lists of my favorite songs from each year and favorite TV shows (Freshman year was the first season of Friends, so I definitely need to record that!). ;)

So far, I feel like putting this physical album together is a little easier than the digital album I'm doing for our current year. I think it's because I only have one shoebox of photos for all six years, and only a few good ones from each event. I certainly wasn't shooting a roll of film every day back then, and if I was still using film today, I'm guessing I'd be way over that. Also, there's just not as many memories to try to include. This stuff happened almost 20 years ago (I know!), so I've forgotten a lot. Anyway... it's different.

Did you do any fun projects this weekend?

P.S. I'm using both the Jade and Blush editions of Project Life for this album (purchased on HSN).

  1. I love this idea!! I might have to do this with some of my old pictures that I have (before digital cameras). I also love that Hobby Lobby has a section for Project Life. I can't wait to see what they get in stock. :-)

  2. Thanks, Amy! I'm having fun with it. I love digital layouts for digital photos, but this is terrific for all my old 4x6's! :)
