BUT... it's NOT about Project Life (or Monty Python, for that matter)! ;)
I was so proud of myself for posting my Project Life pages four weeks in a row, and then I sort-of fizzled out last week. I felt like doing something different, so I decided to try the August template challenge on Krista Sahlin's blog. I also felt like learning something new, so I went browsing on Big Picture Classes, and found Peppermint's "Me and My Shadow" class. It was only $10.00, and I'm always trying to improve my shadowing techniques (since, you know, shadows can make or break your digital scrapbook page), so I went for it.
That just made me think of this one time in high school when my cousin, Valerie, told me that shoes can make or break your outfit (she was way cooler than me). I often remember it when I put on my Birkenstocks, and think, "Guess I broke this one." :)
Anyway... Peppermint's class was great, and I learned a LOT of new-to-me techniques. I had fun shadowing these pages, and I'm thrilled with how the shadows turned out! If you see something that looks wonky, please forgive me (I'm not sure about the lifted curl on the journal card on the Dad page). Anyway... here they are!

This is my favorite part:

Don't you just want to pick at the edge of that tape?? I do! I'm so excited about how realistic it looks after applying a few of Peppermint's mad shadowing skillz! :)
In addition to her Me and My Shadow class, I also employed her free digital washi tape tutorial.
I used all Project Mouse papers and elements. I've been collecting the bundles for an album I'll eventually make of the Disney trip we're taking next year. I used pieces from a bunch of different sets, so rather than linking to each one individually, I'll just link to the Project Mouse post on the Sahlin Studio blog, and you can check out all that's available there (note: all Project Mouse products are also available from Britt-ish Designs, Krista's partner-in-design for the project).

Here are the rest of the digital supplies I used:

P.S. Even though I said this post wasn't about Project Life, these pages will be included in my 2012 Project Life album. Just sayin'. ;)
