Project Life | Week 10

It's nice to look back to March and see that 63 degrees on the Weather App.  Ahhh... that sounds really pleasant.  Of course, I'm staying cool in the A/C, so I can't complain.  I can't imagine living somewhere where air conditioners are not the norm.  Or in a place where the government controls the temperature of all the buildings.  That freedom is one I often take for granted.  I didn't even know such a concept existed until David went on his first mission trip to Russia.  My mom also said that it's similar in China.  I think the government (or maybe the building owner) decides when the hot water is turned on and off each day.  Anyway... I'm thankful for my A/C (and my hot water!).

  1. More nice pages. :-)

Yes, heat in most cities in China is turned off and on by the city on set dates (on Nov. 15, off Apr. 15 in Dalian) -- regardless what temps are! Fortunately, our apartments had supplemental systems for heat and air conditioning that we could control. Whether or not a home had hot water depended on the kind of hot water system in the building -- or the apartment. We had one that the hot water for all units came from a single tank; the second apartment had its own water heater. In the summertime, air conditioning makes my gratitude list every single day -- sincerely and genuinely grateful for a.c.!

I didn't know you and David had watched "The Voice" this season. That and "The Sing Off" are the only two "reality" shows I watch -- contest or otherwise. I like the opening episodes of "The Voice" when the coach/judges are picking their teams. After that, I skip most episodes. However, I try to watch every episode of "The Sing Off." :-)

    Love you!

  2. Lovely pages as always! Love the light and the colors on your PL. You are tempting me to go with digital PL next year! I like the physical part of PL but nowadays there are so many digital PL stuff to drool over, and it would be so easy to enhance and 'accessorise' :)
Love the pic of the 3 of you snuggled on the sofa!
