I am so thankful for our snow day today. I was up half the night coughing, and just kept praying that we wouldn't have school today. I'm SO thankful. Here are some pictures of the boys playing outside yesterday (we homeschool on MWF, so no official snow day yesterday).

Cameron really liked the snow.

Not sure what was going on in the picture below. I think Braden was trying to get Cameron to look at the camera with him, which Cam didn't appreciate, and then the snow started blowing in their faces.

Braden's boots are from last year (too small), but he didn't care.

He sticks his bottom teeth out when he's posing for a picture.

And just to document that I was there. I didn't feel great, but we only get snow a few times a year (usually), so I couldn't justify staying inside all day.
I used my new 35mm prime lens, and I'm pretty happy with it. I shot all these photos using manual exposure, and I think it made a big difference. I tried shooting a few on auto with no flash, and they came out pretty dark. Shooting in snow is tricky.
My story for Braden last night was about how I used to love walking in the woods behind our house (where I grew up) when it snowed because it was so quiet and peaceful. I miss having woods around. Someday, I would love to move out of our little neighborhood and be surrounded by trees again. The snow last night made me think of this song:
