Cameron is 2 Weeks Old!

Cameron was two weeks old yesterday, and today, we took him to his 2 week check-up. He is up to 8 lbs. 1 oz.! The doctor said everything looked great. We think he may have a real belly button soon. It may also be almost time to move up to the size 1 diapers (of which, we have lots - thanks to our friends at church!). All of the newborn sized stuff is a new experience for us. Braden came home from the hospital wearing size 1 diapers (he was 9 lbs. at birth) and never wore any outfits smaller than 0-3 mos. I am already amazed at how different Braden and Cameron are. Braden was a pretty laid back baby, but Cameron is even more so (at least so far). I thought Braden looked a lot like David when he was born, but I think Cameron looks even more like David. I can't really see any of myself in him yet. We'll see how he changes as he gets older. I promised myself I wouldn't constantly compare my children to each other, and I've already started!

Oh, I just remembered something really sweet that happened today. After Cameron's doctor appointment, we stopped by David's office to let his coworkers meet Cameron, and then we went to pick Braden up from preschool and headed home. On the way home, Braden said something about how that all four of us (Mommy, Daddy, Braden, and Cameron) were in the car together, and David got this happy little look on his face. He said, "My whole family's in the car together. Not that it wasn't our 'whole family' before..." and I said, "It just feels complete now." And he said, "Yeah, it's what I always imagined." Then, we talked about how that God knew what he was doing giving me sons and not daughters becuase I'm totally not a girly girl. I'm not saying we'll never have another child, but I have to admit, our family feels more complete now that Cameron is with us. :)

  2. Well, I'm not a tomboy in the sports sense, but I never wear dresses and I'm not into doing hair and make-up. Those are some important girly-girl qualities that I don't possess. :)
