37 Weeks

It hasn't been an entire week since my last OB appointment, but I have progressed at least a little bit farther! I'm still 3 cm dilated, but I'm now about 70-75% effaced, and my doctor said that the baby is definitely lower than he was last week. She said she doesn't think I'll make it to 39 weeks. We'll see. It could happen tomorrow or not for another couple of weeks. Either way, we are (or at least I am) frantically trying to get the house ready. We still have piles of junk in our living room that we cleaned out of both the guest room closet and the garage. The play area is all organized, so that is a nice. Braden has really enjoyed it. He has played with some toys that I think he forgot we had. He is also sleeping in his big boy room as of Saturday night!! He really likes it. He has been making his own bed EVERY morning and keeping everything picked up and put away in his new baskets on his new shelf (with some reminding, of course). It is going great! He looks so big sleeping in his real bed. He had been sleeping on the twin mattress on the floor next to his crib for the past year or more. We still have some things to hang up on the walls, but for the most part, it is finished. Now, I'm working on getting the nursery all cleaned up and ready for the new baby. The closet has more stuff in it than I know what to do with. It's not packed full, but it's certainly not neat. I've been trying to organize it little by little. I do have a sinking feeling that everything will not get done before the baby arrives, though. Our house is livable, of course, but I don't think it will be all ready according to my standards. There's still hope, though!

On a completely different note, I am SO thankful for David's job. There were lots of corporate layoffs today, and we are realizing how serious the economic crisis really is. We were starting to think that maybe his company was immune, but apparently not. I am so glad that he has a job period, but also a job that he truly enjoys. I'm praying that it stays that way, and that he gets to continue enjoying it for many years to come.
