I'm pretty sure I made this in the summer of 1990, between 8th and 9th grade. I would consider it my first "scrapbook" page since it was the first time I did more than just photos and captions.
Here's a conversation we could have had that summer (you know, assuming you were a girl my age in 1990):
Me: Like, do you wanna see this collage I just did in my photo album?
You: That's way cool! Like, I totally wanna make one too! I'm gonna take, like, so many pictures. I'm gonna need a TON of film! Our freshman year is gonna be sweet!
Me: No duh. So, like, are you gonna roll your sleeves this year? Somebody told me that in high school, like, nobody cares about rolling their sleeves. I dunno. When I don't roll my sleeves, I'm like, barf!
You: I know! I will ALWAYS roll my sleeves. And my jeans too. Like, can you believe our moms used to, like, wear bell bottoms?
Me: Bell bottoms are cool. NOT! They are so grody!! Bell bottoms will NEVER come back.
You: I know. Hey, look at this issue of Sassy. It says people are gonna, like, wear their hair smooth and straight in the 90's.
Me: Not! I will never have flat hair! Like, gag me with a spoon!

Our 14-year-old selves were so wise, no?
Note: Sassy really did predict that about hair, and they were mostly right. And that really was my reaction. Well, maybe not exactly. I did like poofy bangs, though. And I LOVED Sassy.

Happy Throwback Thursday.
Haha! This made me laugh! I was recently looking through a scrapbook my best friend made me when I graduated high school.. it's full of rubber stamping, gel pen quotes, and printed off stories of our growing up years. Took me back!! So fun. :)
ReplyDeleteFun! I wish I had more pictures of my friends and me in high school. This album is mostly pages of everyone's little school portraits. :)
