Family Birthday-Palooza

My family always gets together for the Fourth of July, partly to celebrate Independence Day and partly to celebrate all the birthdays around that time. This year, we packed up the kids (Cameron's first road trip anywhere), and headed over the weekend before the fourth. Paw Paw had invested in a "new" bucket of Legos since the last time we were there, so he and Braden had lots of fun with that.

On Saturday, we went to Noah's 2nd birthday party at the park and then had birthday dinner at Ben's house that night with all my mom's side of the family. We celebrated Noah's birthday again and also George's and Debbie's. Ben cooked a really good beef brisket (at least I think that's what it was... it tasted good, anyway). Even though Ben hosted, Grandma couldn't stay out of the kitchen. Braden and Miranda had fun jumping on the trampolene, but it was extremely hot outside. After dinner, we dropped Cameron off with Nanny and took Braden to watch the huge fireworks display at the college. We parked over a mile away, but we could still see all the big stuff really well.

On Sunday, we stopped by Granny's house for a quick visit. She hadn't seen Cameron before, and was reluctant to hold him (she was afraid she might drop him), but we got him on her lap for at least a few minutes. It was a nice visit and she sent us home with a huge bag of homegrown new potatoes.
