UPDATE: Inserts added!
I usually like to follow the rules I set for myself, but this week I strayed... I did a completely different title card! ;) I like the consistency of having all my title cards match (at least sort-of), but I liked this card the way it was, and my normal date configuration wouldn't look as good. I also wanted to try a different approach to making my own "thickers" this week. I used the Bebas Neue font and added an outer bevel in the layer style. I also clipped one of the papers from the August Kit by Splendid Fiins to the text, and added a texture in the layer style called "handmade paper." I don't know that they look like real thickers, but they look more dimensional than just the font.
Without further ado, here's Week 23 (June 3-9):

Week 23 was a busy one including some fun things, and some not-so-fun things.
Not-so-fun stuff:
If you've been reading my blog the past few weeks, you've seen pictures of brown recluse spiders. After seeing five in one week, I called the exterminators. They sprayed and set out sticky traps (our babysitter got her hair caught in one while playing hide-and-seek with the boys!!). I need to call them to come back because we have several in the traps (gross) and I'm still seeing a live one every now and then. Oh, the joys of home ownership. :/
Fun stuff:
David and I had a date night! I can't remember the last time we hired a babysitter and went out to a movie. It's been a loooong time. That was fun!
My neighbor invited me to a book study with her Sunday School class, and I was happy to discover that I already knew a LOT of the ladies there! Several were moms from our school, one went to high school with me, and one is married to a guy I grew up with. :) The book is also phenomenal. If you haven't read Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst, I highly recommend it. It was exactly what I needed. It's funny and encouraging with lots of practical information.
. . . . . .
I think it's interesting to note that only the baseball photos were taken with my big camera (Nikon D40). All the rest were taken with my iPhone 4S.
We went to another family reunion this past weekend, and David and I were talking on the way home about how much change our great-grandparents witnessed in their lifetimes (like going from wagons on dirt paths to cars and trucks on divided interstates). I argued that we haven't seen nearly as many changes in our lifetime as they did, or at least that the changes we've seen haven't altered our daily way of life. He argued that even though the changes they saw were industrial, and the changes we've seen have been technological, they have still changed our way of life. He pointed to my phone and said, "Just think how many pictures you take every day." Very true, my dear. I have always enjoyed photography, but it is definitely much more a part of my everyday life than it was even five years ago.
That's one of the many things I love about Project Life. It's sort-of like a time capsule. I wonder what we'll notice when we look back at these albums in five, ten, or twenty years from now.
Speaking of time capsules, I am gearing up to participate in the annual Week In The Life project. It's coming soon! Here's my 2010 Week In The Life album. I'm still working on 2011 and 2012 (shh... don't tell anyone!). Even though I'm *really* behind, I still love this project. It's an intense week of memory recording, and it's totally worth it!

Hope you're having a wonderful week! :)
