InstaFriday | VBS

Greetings! We just finished Vacation Bible School (VBS) at our church. I still have "Colossal Coaster World" in my head. It was a lot of fun, but I think I took a nap every single afternoon. :)

Here's what we've been up to for the past couple of weeks (via Instagram):

 Week 25| June 17-23 

My nursery working partner was out of town last Sunday, so David and Braden came to help me. I usually work in the toddler class, but the director moved us into Cameron's room. It was pretty fun. Braden did a great job helping all the little kids and keeping them entertained. | Can you name that airport?


The airport is DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth). David had a layover there on a business trip to Carlsbad, California. This beach was just across the street from his convention hotel. | I took the boys to lunch at Dixie Cafe after swim lessons one day while David was gone.


Braden and I played some dominoes. | I am SO sick of brown recluses! This one was waiting for me in the kitchen sink. I think it was already dead. I disposed of it, and started texting David (in CA) about how sick I was of having brown recluses in our house, when I walked back to the sink only to find that ANOTHER ONE had just crawled out of the drain!!! It was even bigger and most definitely NOT dead. I think I texted David some borderline obscenities at that point. We've had the exterminators out to spray and set out sticky traps, but I still see at least one every week. David never sees any! I did save a rather large one (after I killed it) a couple of weeks ago so he would know for sure that I wasn't imagining things or possibly misidentifying them. He is not freaked out at all (typical), and I am pretty much about to have a nervous breakdown over it (also typical). Anyway... | Cameron loves to listen to audio books (I've ordered several from Scholastic over the years). He memorized this book, "The Ice Cream King," and recited it to me. :)


While I was battling poisonous spiders at home, David was kicking back in his spa robe and slippers. ;) | I did accomplish a few things at home. I finally got all the DVD's transferred out of their original cases and into these plastic sleeves. All the kids' DVD's now fit into this one drawer. YAY!


I found this vintage Fisher-Price Play Desk at a flea market a while back, and couldn't resist buying it. Cameron has just recently started to show an interest in it, and wants to spell all the words on the cards. I love it! | Braden and I played some more dominoes (David was still in CA), and built towers between hands. | I've been watching a lot of Friends lately. I have a hard time going to bed when David is out of town, and I love the mini-marathons on nick @ nite. The oldest episodes often take me back in time (the series premiere was during the fall of my freshman year of college). Good times. :)

 Week 26| June 24-30 

Scenes from VBS. Both boys had a GREAT time. Cameron got mad every day when it was time to leave and yelled, "I am not going home! I want to stay here forever!!" Cute, but not so sweet. I taught preschool music with a teenage helper, who was completely awesome, and has taught preschool music lots of times. She could have been the leader, and I could have been the helper. :)
