InstaFriday | Happy Mother's Day!

Each Friday (well... sometimes Saturday), I post all the Instagram pictures I took with my phone during the past week. Some weeks I take a lot, other weeks, just a few. We had a lot going on this week!


The boys and I played Trouble on our first day of Summer Break. Cameron had never played before, and he WON! :) He was so happy. | My requested Mother's Day gift involved this ONE can of paint.


David got to work last Saturday painting the kitchen for my Mother's Day gift! | He cranked up the radio and Cameron rocked out with the Wiggles guitar. | Painting, painting, painting. The paint+primer in "ONE" did a pretty good job of covering the red walls. It still needed two coats, but it probably would have taken several more with regular paint. | Happy Mother's Day, Mommy! The boys were so sweet carrying all my stuff for me, and Cameron picked out the shirt he's wearing. I think he chose it because he knew I liked it.


We've been outside enjoying the nice warm weather. The boys have had fun playing wiffle ball. | Braden's baseball team played the only other undefeated team in the league. His team is still number one! Go White Sox! | Braden started reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe after I told him he could watch the movie if he read the book first. He read all the way to the last chapter in only two days (but then stalled out and still hasn't finished it). Maybe I should let him watch the movie and pause it ten minutes before the ending, and then tell him he can watch the rest when he finishes the book. Ha! :)


David was gone on a business trip for a couple of days this week. | We played outside with the neighbors one evening when it was really nice out. | The boys and I had a movie night while David was gone. | I painted the inside of the drawers on our new dresser which will hopefully soon be a TV console.


Game night with our sweet friends, Dave and Kendra! They got a kick out of the message I wrote on our big chalkboard. The board hasn't found a permanent home yet -- it's just leaning up against a wall in the hallway for now. My David cooked a delicious "brinner" (breakfast for dinner). Dave and Kendra also got a kick out of his apron. :) The boys had fun playing with their kids, Luke and Laiken, but I didn't get any good pictures (they were moving too fast!).


Braden helped David work today. They cleaned out the garage, took a bunch of stuff to Goodwill, and mowed the yard! It was Braden's first time to push the mower. It is an old one that is NOT self-propelled. Hard work on a hot day! :)

We had a great week!

Sidenote: Braden is starting to eat us out of house and home. I'm really wondering how tall he's going to be by the time school starts again. As a teacher, I was always surprised by how much taller my first and second graders were when they came back after summer break. :)
