2013 Project Life | Week 4

Happy Friday!

I usually post my Instagram photos from the week on Fridays, but I took ZERO this week. So... no Instagrams. BUT, I did finish Week Four of Project Life! So, I'll share that today instead. :)

Everyday Life Templates (Volume 1) 3x4 Calendar Cards 2013 (Monday Start) Mark My Words

Holiday Cheer Kit at Digital Design Essentials Project Life Cobalt Edition AC Digitals

I decided to go with a different background paper this week. I considered trying to use the same one all year (I did for the first three weeks), but I knew I wouldn't be able to hold myself to that for an entire year. :) I also recolored a few things on the cards from the Cobalt Edition. I wanted more pops of yellow.

There are several ways to recolor digital elements in Photoshop (I have Photoshop Elements 8). I used the magic wand tool to select the area that I wanted to recolor, and then filled the selection with the new color. I had to play with the tolerance, and found that a low number (I set it around 10-15) works better for flat blocks of color. I recently read a few tutorials on recoloring. Check them out if that's something you're interested in doing. :)

PL-Tuesday

I discovered today that The Mom Creative blog has a weekly link-up for Project Life pages! That's exciting to me because I like to have a place to go see other people's pages, and having a post to link up to every week is motivation to keep up with it. So, come next Tuesday, I'll be linking up (I linked up Week 3 earlier today). I thought about waiting to post these pages until next Tuesday, but I'm not good at waiting.

TTFN! (The boys just finished watching The Tigger Movie... I couldn't resist).

  1. This Project Life stuff looks so neat. It's like I want to dive in and start it all but I'm afraid I'll give up and it'll be just another hobby I started and didn't finish. Do you love it? How much time does it take you per week?

    1. Hi Marla! I'm excited you're considering doing Project Life! I LOVE IT!! I think a lot of people don't "finish" it the first year they start, but that's OK because something is better than nothing. :)

You can make it whatever you want. You don't have to do a weekly approach. You can do themes (seasons, birthdays, etc.) or focus on a single event. It would be perfect for all your Disney photos!

If you're familiar with Photoshop, then digital is great, but if not, the paper Core Kits are lovely. BeckyHiggins.com has lots of great information, and they have some AMAZING new kits coming out in May (the digital versions will probably be released a little earlier, but I don't know when).
