We've had a fun and full week.

1. Cameron likes to help me put the clothes in the washer. He said, "I just wuv to do waundwy."
2. Braden loves tennis. On the way to class, he said, "I can't decide if I want to be an Olympic swimmer or tennis player."
3. Braden swam a little bit without the noodle, and even swam a little with his face in the water! Woo-Hoo!!

4. I took B to lunch at Dixie Cafe' after swimming. He was excited, especially about free dessert.
5. David helped Braden with his science homework - a fossilized rock (sponge) experiment.
6. Braden is teaching himself to play harmonica.

7. We took a field trip to a corn maze with a few families from school.
8. Braden ran through the kids' maze with his friends several times, and went through one time with Cam before we left. I heard lots of, "slow down! wait for me!"
9. Oh, look! Actual corn in the corn maze! I tried to take some good pictures with my big camera, but I am a novice when it comes to manual mode in bright sunlight. Everything was either too dark or completely blown out. iPhone to the rescue. I've always said it was really a camera that just also happened to be a phone.

10. The kids had a lot of fun shooting the corn cannon. Braden's friend was super excited that she hit the target!
11. This is what my living room looked like for most of this week. I moved the piano to the opposite side of the formal dining area, and all of this schtuff was crammed into that corner. I got anxiety-induced chest pains every time I thought about it, so I buried my brain in HGTV and blogs... and hot chocolate.
12. All that moving around was in preparation for this beauty, which arrived this week! SO EXCITED! It's for our formal dining area (which is only called that because that's what the realtor said it was), which will soon be our school room. A trip to IKEA is in the works, so it will be a while before it's all put together.

13. Something else fun arrived this week too! I used a Blurb coupon and made a photo book of a recent camping trip. I'm hoping to share more about it soon.
14. Cam was the first one to get to look through the new book. He's making his angry face while looking at a picture of himself making the same face.
15. Cam and I had fun browsing the Christmas aisles at Walmart Thursday morning.

16. I really wanted to buy this, but restrained myself (not kidding!).
17. How YOU doin'? Ken may have a healthy glow, but his days are numbered. He'll be mummified next week.
18. Cam likes to nap in the rocking chair. I've pretty much given in and just let him start out there.

19. The boys got haircuts after school yesterday, and then ran off some energy on the shopping center sidewalk.
20. David joined us for dinner at the Mexican restaurant next door to the haircut place. Braden discovered the straw fit in the gap where he's missing a tooth, so he can now drink without closing his mouth. Nice.
21. David took the boys home after dinner, and said I could go have a night on the town if I wanted (so he could put the boys to bed and watch TV shows I don't like). I went to Goodwill and then closed Target. I resisted buying this string art ship at Goodwill. It looked a little rougher in person than it does in the photo, and I had no idea where to hang it. I thought it was cool, though.
That's all for now. I hope you had a fun week and got to enjoy some nice fall weather like we did! :)

Fun week! I may have to join you next insta-Friday! I found a ken fill with his nose bit off today at goodwill! I was super excited!
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine! You totally should join me! :) Good for you finding a Ken! We looked at the Goodwill closest to us, but there were no Kens - only lots and lots of clothing-less Barbies. How funny that his nose was bitten off - like the Sphinx. ;) Braden has decided that he really likes Ken, and wants to get a new one after we mummify this one... and a Barbie to go with it. Oh, boy... :)
