Project Life: Week 7

Week 7 (Feb. 12-18) was a busy week! I'm planning to do a separate page or three for Cameron's birthday celebrations, so this spread includes all of the other stuff that was going on.

I didn't have room to journal about the day it snowed, but in my journaling document (which I'm typing up every week and will eventually print and put in a binder to sit on the shelf next to my scrapbook), I wrote this:

Best part of today: Waking up to happy boys screaming, “It’s SNOWING!!!”
Worst part of today: A sad boy who didn't have boots that fit (Braden) and therefore refused to go outside, and an unhappy boy who did have boots that fit (Cameron), but decided he did NOT like snow.

February 13th was pretty much the only snow for this winter (I think?), and it's hard to believe (compared to LAST YEAR) that we didn't even have ONE snow day where we missed school. Crazy!

Click on the pictures to go to Flickr and see them with credits for all the digital scrapbooking goodies I used to create the pages.

I put my iPhone to use for several of these photos. I learned how to do screen captures (press the home button and the power button at the same time) and then reformat those images for use on my layouts from the talented Cathy Zielske.

I was also super inspired by this layout by Lindsay Teague Moreno:

I love how she used the photo booth strip on the left. I tried mine in black and white, but I just can't resist color photos. She has a lot of other awesome layouts on her blog.

Even though I feel like I'm getting more and more behind as time is flying by and it's taking me weeks to complete one layout, I am still really enjoying this project. Yeah... it's all good. :)

  1. Your layouts are really great! Love the colors and the large birthday photo/layout! And that bathtub moment captured! I do so wish I discovered scrapbooking when my kids were little, I've missed so much! But then again, I can't imagine back then how I would find time to scrapbook! Much as what you're facing now, I'm sure! Don't worry, when they are teenagers you will have time to do what you want :)
