We colored eggs with the boys today for the first time ever.
Growing up, it was always our tradition to color eggs at Easter. We dyed them different colors and sometimes decorated them with stripes or stickers, or those shrink-wrapper things. Then the Easter Bunny hid them in the yard for me to find on Sunday morning, where they were usually wet and a little slimy, and sometimes covered with a slug or two. It was great.
Since Braden was born, we've only had plastic Easter eggs. I don't know why we never colored real eggs in the past. Too busy, I guess. A few days ago, I saw a recipe for brightly colored egg dye, and I thought, "I can do that. We are definitely dyeing eggs this year!" So we did.

I can't wait for tomorrow when David turns them into "creamed eggs on toast!"
