No, that's not our fireplace (it's lovely, though, isn't it?).
Our furnace bit the dust today. We called a repair man, and he should be out first thing in the morning. We’re making do tonight with blankets and space heaters, so we should be OK. We turned on our gas fireplace for a little while, but the smell was unbearable.
I don’t get why the furnace has to pick the night that it’s supposed to get down to -9 to go out. Oh, well… If you’re reading this tonight, please pray that we’ll stay warm enough, and that our space heaters make it through the night without any issues. If you’re reading this Thursday morning, please pray that the furnace (which will likely have to be replaced completely, or at least get a new motor, which the repair guy said would be around $500) will get fixed quickly and that the cost won’t be completely outrageous.
I’m so thankful for a dry and (sort-of) warm place to sleep. I know there are lots of people who struggle on cold nights like tonight, and I’ll be praying for them.
Oh Jenny, so sorry to hear that. I'll be praying for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteCall me if you need anything or anywhere to go that's warm!! Praying for you guys!! BRRRR!!!
ReplyDeleteGirl I feel your pain! Ours was off from December 26th through January 23rd! The guys never called us back and when we did get in touch with him, he said he was waiting on a part. We ended up having to call another company and pay another fee to have them look at it, but they had it fixed it within a day. We were thankful for our gas fireplace and space heaters too.
ReplyDeleteLove your layout below by the way. It's so cute! Congratulations!
Thanks so much for the prayers! We are making it... really a piece of cake compared to the ice storm of '09 (I feel like an old lady saying it like that). :)
ReplyDeleteAshley! My goodness! How did I not know that? I'm so glad it finally got fixed. Ours is taking longer than it should have because we decided not to do business with the first company that came out. We got a recommendation for another guy, and he's scheduled to install a whole new unit on Monday. Even though I wish it was already fixed, I'm so glad we went with our gut, and got a 2nd opinion (literally saved us thousands).
