Day 1: Santa!

I'm attempting a new scrapbooking project this Decmeber. It's Ali Edwards's December Daily project, only I think maybe I'll call it "25 Days of Christmas." Anyway, the point is to tell ONE story for each day of December, leading up to Christmas. Ali (the same Ali from the Week in the Life project, which I finally finished and got printed a few months ago) does semi-elaborate hybrid pages for each day, but I decided to go super-easy and just do a 4x6 2-up photo album. My plan for each day is to write (yes, WRITE, not type in a cute font, but WRITE with an actual pen, in my own handwriting) the "story" on a 4x6 index card (the white kind with notebook lines), get ONE 4x6 photo printed at Walgreens, stick them both in my album, and call it good. This is big for me. It will not look perfect. It will not be all decked out in digi-scrap goodness. It will be pure and simple, and best of all, I think my KIDS will love it. They just want to see the pictures and hear the stories, anyway. So, here goes!

Story:
December 1, 2010
Today, we went to see Santa! We got Braden's school work done in the morning and headed to the Promenade just before lunch time. Both boys were excited once we got there. Cameron played ball with Santa for a few minutes while Braden sat on his lap and listed all the things he wanted for Chrsitmas. After we got a picture with both boys on his lap, we walked over to Subway to get some lunch. While we were paying, Santa walked up holding my camera - oops!! I had left it in the Santa area! We ate lunch and the boys rode in one of the cars. Cameron didn't like it too much. Braden wanted to do another one, but I didn't have enough quarters. Then, we waved bye to Santa one more time, and headed home.
