Weekend with my family

BIG Weekend - Details: Post #2
We spent the weekend with my family.

We had a nice visit with my side of the family. We drove to my dad's house Friday afternoon. Aaron (my step-brother) and his wife, Darla, came over, and we go to meet their new baby, Joel, for the first time. My dad grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, and we all ate dinner together. I had joked with Carole (my step-mom) that Cameron would have one of each (he's a BIG eater). I was just kidding, but he did end up eating two hot dogs! He didn't like the hamburger at all. I think maybe it's a texture issue? Anyway, we went for a little walk around the block and Braden practiced riding a little bike in the driveway without training wheels (without a lot of success).

On Saturday, Braden practiced riding the bike some more, and then we went out to visit Granny (my dad's mom). Braden had fun playing with some old "army guys" he found in her hall closet. I think they probably belonged to my dad or maybe one of his younger brothers. Cameron had fun cruising up and down her long couch and looking at her big conch shell that she and Pops had found in Hawaii one time. I forgot to take my camera to Granny's house. Saturday afternoon was nap time for everyone. After Braden woke up (well, let's say "got up" - he never fell asleep), he wanted to practice riding the bike again. David rode around a little, too, and ended up crashing and hurting himself (see the bike post). After all that, we went to dinner with my mom's family at a Chinese restaurant to celebrate George's and Debbie's birthdays. Then, we did our Fourth of July celebration at Grandma's house (see the fireworks post).

On Sunday morning, Michelle (my step-sister) and her family came over to my dad's to visit. Darla and Aaron brought Joel over again, too. All the kids had fun riding bikes and eating lunch together. We got a couple of pictures of all of them together (no easy task), which made Nanny very happy. After lunch, we headed home. When we got home, my dad called to tell me thanks for coming. He really loves having the grandkids around (and us too, of course). :)

All the Grandkids (minus Hayley) ages 2 months to 10 years - on the couch from left to right:
Cameron, Little Braden, Big Brayden, Dalton, Joel, Tori, Bailey
