My hometown didn't have ice cream trucks when I was growing up, so hearing the music fade in and out around the neighborhood (most often on Sunday evenings) is a new thing for me. Well, new-ish... we've lived in our neighborhood for several years, and the ice cream truck has been coming around for most of those years. But I had never ever in my entire life bought anything from an ice cream truck until a couple of weeks ago. Braden heard the music, and wanted to get some. He's heard the music before, but I guess he wasn't interested until now. Our first attempt failed. We heard the music, Braden saw the truck, we got our money, and went outside, but he was gone and didn't come back around again. So, I took Braden to the ice cream shop that night for a treat instead. When the next Sunday came around, we were ready, and Braden got a nice, big SpongeBob SquarePants Popsicle. I tried it. It tasted like vanilla ice cream covered in Fun Dip (gross). He loved it, though, and ate the whole thing outside in the driveway.
I've been working on my Week in the Life scrapbook for the past month, and I'm almost finished. I took a little break from it yesterday, though, to work on the first exercise in an online scrapbooking class I'm taking. It's all about using templates and learning how to adapt them to your individual style. I have a hard time knowing what my style is, but I like how the Ice Cream layout turned out. This is the "linear-graphic" style. Enjoy! :) It's also posted in my
Flickr Gallery.
