I am gearing up to do the "A Week in the Life" project next week along with lots (maybe) of other scrapbookers around the globe. When I first heard about it, I didn't give it much thought, but as I've read more about it on Ali Edwards's blog this week, I'm getting more excited, and I think I've decided that I AM going to do it (one reason I'm posting today... If I write it down and publish it on the blog, I'm more likely to follow through). Even if I only manage to take a few more pictures than normal and jot down a few things we (I) did each day, it will be better than nothing!
Reading through Ali's Monday from her 2008 Week in the Life project makes me feel like I just spent the whole day with her. I would love it if my project turns out like that. What a treasure that will be years from now - for me and my children. I have to keep telling myself that it's going to be a week in MY life, though, not my kids' lives. Of course, they'll be a big part of the story, but I need to document what I do, and not just focus on what they're doing. I always focus on that. They're what almost all of my scrapbook pages are about. I need to tell my story, too, though. It has crossed my mind that someday, they're going to be all grown up, and I won't have anything to scrap about anymore (waah!), so maybe this project will give me a fresh perspective on scrapping.
OK, there you go. It's in print. I am doing it. No turning back now!
