Creating

As I was working on the Disney scrapbook layout , I became increasingly aware that creating is sometimes hard work for people. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted the layout to look like, but try as I might, I couldn't make it come together on the screen. I tried different templates, papers, embellishments, and color schemes, but it just didn't look right. I was finally satisfied with it, but I have no idea if it looks like the vague image I had in my head when I started.

As I struggled through the design process (which lasted a few weeks), I started developing a respect and awe for our Creator that I never really had before. I had never given much thought to the fact that God SPOKE the world into existence. That's just what He did, though. Genesis 1:3, "And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light." Can you imagine if we could do that? I could just sit down in front of my scrapbook, and say, "Let there be a page for Cameron's first birthday party," and there it would be. But of course, we can't do that. The fact that we can't makes me sit back and think about how amazing God really is because He can.

Note: I chose this photo because I have always wanted to see the Northern Lights in real life. I haven't had the chance yet, but I hope I get to someday.
