David’s Grandmother and Granddaddy came for a visit this past weekend while my mom was here celebrating her birthday with us. It had been over a year since we had seen them, so it was Cameron’s first time meeting his great grandparents! Granddaddy is the only surviving great grandfather our boys have. We had a really nice visit. Braden had a great time racing cars with Granddaddy and trying to get Grandmother’s foot (which I’m told is a classic game in David’s family). David cooked a delicious dinner. We had pork chops with roasted tomato and apricot chutney, roasted Brussels sprouts, and garlic parmesan mashed potatoes. Yum! They stayed after the boys went to bed to play a couple of games of “42” with us (If you don't know, “42” is a domino game - also called Texas Fourhand). It’s not “42” until you hear Granddaddy say, “John Brown!” Sunday, we all went to church together to hear David sing with the choir in the Christmas cantata, and then enjoyed lunch at AQ. After they went home, David smiled and said, “They’ve still got it!”
