I am so excited!!! A few weeks ago, I entered a few photos in a contest on a local blog. The finalists were announced yesterday, and one of my pictures was chosen! The contest isn’t over yet, but I really hope we win. The grand prize is a free session with a local professional photographer. We haven’t had portraits done in over two years (none with Cameron, obviously), and we’ve NEVER had a session with a “real” photographer (I don’t count J.C. Penney). The judges were looking for the most emotional impact. Here is the photo I entered:

A few other exciting things have been happening around our house…
Cameron can sit up! No, I didn’t say spit up (although, he’s getting better about that), I said SIT UP! He has really mastered it in the past few days. Last Thursday or Friday, he was starting to be able to sit unsupported for a few seconds without falling over. I had to be right there ready to catch him, though. By Sunday, he could sit for several minutes without losing his balance! I am still staying close by, as he does occasionally take a dive, but he’s getting really good at sitting! David got some “new” toys out of the attic, and he’s enjoying them (stacking rings, shape sorter, peek-a-blocks, and other good sitter toys). Here he is holding my hand for balance on Sept. 10th, and then sitting and playing all by himself (with Daddy close by) on Sept. 13th.

He’s also getting HUGE. Braden was a big baby (9 lbs. at birth), and always moved up to the next size of clothing a month early. So, when he was 2 months old, he moved into 3-6 month size clothes, by the time he was 5 months old, he was wearing 6-9 months, etc. Well, Cameron isn’t even 7 months old yet, and he is already quite comfortable in 9-12 month size clothes! He is even busting the snaps open on some of the one-pieces. People in Walmart see me pushing the stroller with the carrier in the top, and they say, “Oh… look! A baby,” and then when they get close enough to see in the carrier, they say, “A BIG Baby! How old is he??” Needless to say, they are surprised to hear that he is only six months old. Well, I love my big boy!

Braden also had a milestone yesterday… his first SOCCER practice! He has been looking forward to it for weeks, and he did a great job! He listened to the coaches and did exactly what he was supposed to do. We are so proud of him! Here he is in his soccer “uniform” heading to practice. Next, he's doing the "roly poly" with his soccer ball.

Above, they're separating the kids into teams. Braden's team is the Piranhas. We have to look them up on the Internet so he knows what one looks like. Last, he's having a drink at the end of practice. David told me, "It's official... you're a soccer mom."
