The following is what I had posted on our family Web site on our page (with a few edits). I'm thinking of transferring all of that info, and eventually the photos too, over to the blog so we can be free of the site (which is not free). So, here's all about us...

November 1997 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . May 2008
David and I met while in college at the University of Arkansas. Our birthdays are only two weeks apart, so we started out as freshmen at the same time. We both played in the Razorback Marching Band and Hogwild Bands for five years. David played trombone, and I played trumpet. We weren't close friends at first, but shared mutual friends through Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma (the band fraternity and sorority).
We started dating in the fall of our junior year (1997) after David returned from working at Walt Disney World for a semester and a summer. After we had been dating for about a year and a half, David asked me to marry him! He proposed on April Fools' Day, 1999, with a gumball machine ring (he was such a joker...). A little over a year later, and one week after I graduated with my M.A.T., we were married at the Methodist church in my hometown on May 20, 2000. Our wedding was the first in the new sanctuary, which was special because my grandfather (my mom's dad), had worked on the plans before he passed away in 1992. David's grandfather, a Missionary Baptist preacher, performed the ceremony.
We stayed in the UA area for the first year of our marriage. David worked in benefits for a large trucking company, and I took a job teaching fourth grade at an elementary school in a nearby town. In March of 2001, we bought our house and moved a few miles north, to be closer to work. I then took a new job teaching first grade at a new school only a few miles from our new house. I taught there for three years until we found out we were expecting a baby! I resigned at the end of the school year in 2004, to stay home with Braden. David also switched jobs during that time, and began working in benefits for a very large retail company. He has worked there for over five years now, and really enjoys it.
While taking care of Braden, I worked part-time from home. I started designing custom kids' stationery (invitations, note cards, bag tags, and name labels) and opened up my own little business, mainly selling online. I also tutored online a few hours a week through eSylvan. In the spring of 2007, I started teaching second grade at a private, Christian, University-Model school. The students come to school two days a week and are homeschooled the other days. It was a wonderful balance for me between teaching and being at home with Braden. He went to a church pre-school on the days I taught, and enjoyed that a lot. In June of 2008, we found out we were expecting again! I taught during the fall semester (alongside a terrific co-teacher who took over for me after Christmas). I resigned after the fall semester so I could prepare for the arrival of our second son, Cameron, who was born in February, 2009. I'm now staying home with both boys and have since closed my online stationery business. Braden is in Pre-K at a different Christian school this year (the school where I taught doesn't offer Pre-K), and we're planning to enroll him in the University-Model school for Kindergarten next year. I am so looking forward to it!
We are active in our church. David is currently teaching Sunday School in the youth department, and I taught in the preschool department before Cameron was born. David also serves as a deacon and sings in the choir, and I have enjoyed playing handbells in the past.
For fun, David likes to read and play tennis (not at the same time). I enjoy going out to dinner with friends for Girls' Night Out, taking pictures of our family, and digital scrapbooking. I find it hard to believe we've been married for nine years. Time is flying by so fast! I am so thankful that God put David in my life. He is such a wonderful husband, and is truly my best friend.
