A little R&R at the B&B

David and I had such a great time this past week! He took off work for a few days, we dropped the boys off with Paw Paw and Nanny, and headed to our favorite B&B (the Bradford Inn) in Branson. It was wonderful. We saw the newest Harry Potter movie on the IMAX, played indoor mini-golf three different times (two of the courses had black lights – you can’t get any cooler than that), bought fall clothes for everyone but me, and ate some really good pizza.

We usually go all out and have the Alaskan King crab legs at Landry’s, but neither of us were in the mood for seafood, so we decided to hang out in our room (“The Peach Room” – it was perfect with a little sitting room complete with a couch and a small dining table), play cards (which we had to go to the Branson Walmart to buy, even though we have more decks than we could ever possibly need at home – my packing list will include cards next time - but, what trip is complete without a visit to the local Walmart?), and eat pizza. The inn owners recommended a local gourmet pizza delivery place, and it was terrific. Ahhh… what a nice, relaxing time. No TV, no Internet, no work, no kids… it was just what we needed.

Note: Even though I have a limited wardrobe at the moment, I really do own more shirts than just that bright blue one (I'm wearing it in half of the recent pictures I’ve posted). And no, it's not my favorite shirt.

On our last morning at the Bradford Inn, we were eating breakfast (it is a Bed & Breakfast after all), and I noticed that they had a shelf full of old journals from the guest rooms. I started flipping through them, and I found the one that was in “The Bridal Suite” when we stayed there on our wedding night! I got the receptionist to make a copy of our entry. Here is what I wrote on our wedding day…
