Cameron had his 6-month well baby visit with the doctor today. He is still in the 90th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference, so he’s big, but he’s proportional! Here are his stats:
Weight: 19 lbs. 8 oz.
Height: 27 ½ inches
Head Circumference: 17 ¾ inches
The doctor asked about all his milestones. He is right on track except that I haven’t seen him roll from back to belly. He can roll over onto his side, and he has rolled onto his tummy a few times in his crib (which resulted in much crying and gnashing of teeth… well, gums). I haven’t witnessed him doing it, though.
We’re planning to start him on solids later this week. I like to wait until they are six months old before giving anything other than formula, and I want to wait a few more days because he usually runs a little fever for a day or two after his immunizations (of which he got three today). I haven’t decided what food to try first yet. I did rice cereal with Braden, but the doctor said it didn’t matter. She just suggested trying vegetables before fruits since fruits are sweet. So, we may go the cereal route. I am hoping I’ll be a little more relaxed about it than I was with Braden. I was really nervous when we started him on solids. I just don’t like change. Babies definitely bring change, though. As soon as you think you’ve got it all figured out, they start doing something different!
Note: The picture with Grammie was taken last week when she and Grandpa came to visit and babysit the boys while David and I went to Braden's school orientation.
