I'm officially 38 weeks pregnant today. I felt SO good last week. It was amazing. Wednesday through Friday, I just had loads of energy, and it felt good to walk and be on my feet. I felt so good that I actually thought it was a little weird. Well... I think I paid for all my activity yesterday. I woke up achy and felt like I was hauling around 3 bowling balls in my belly all day. I feel a little more normal today. I really wondered yesterday if I was going to go into labor. I've heard of people having a burst of energy and feeling really good just before going into labor. I guess that's not what was going on with me, though! My next appointment is Tuesday, so we'll see how that goes.
I did a lot of stuff last week (so, I'm really thankful for all that energy). I visited a new pre-school for Braden. We decided he needed to go into a real Pre-Kindergarten program for next fall, and his current daycare/pre-school/Mother's Day Out (whatever you want to call it) just offers a pre-school class for ages 3-5. It has been great, but we didn't think he needed to work on the same curriculum for another year. Anyway... I found one that I think is going to be really, really good, and it happens to be the least expensive one I looked at! YEA!
I also visited my 2nd graders at their Valentine's party on Thursday. It was a lot of fun to see all of them again and get to visit with several of the parents who were there. I heard from so many that they were praying for me and the baby every day. I am so thankful for that, and I know their prayers are being heard. I really have had a great pregnancy so far! I'm praying (and I know they are, too) that the delivery and recovery will go really smoothly for me as well.
On Friday, David's office hosted a little baby shower for us. Braden got to be there, and they even got a present just for him -- a Build-A-Bear bear complete with a Spider-man costume and an Ironman costume. He couldn't have been more thrilled. They were all good sports, too, and let Braden bury several people in tissue paper so they could "bust out." It was fun and we got a lot of nice things for the new baby.
I'm hoping I will have a little time to relax this week. There are still a few chores to be done around the house, but David worked really hard yesterday, and got a lot of stuff cleaned up for me. The living room is starting to look less like a garage sale at least! He even made time to cook me a special Valentine's Day dinner. We had green beans, garlic cheddar mashed potatoes, and a heart-shaped meatloaf. :)
