It's a Boy!

We had our 19 week ultrasound today. I had a feeling since the beginning that this baby was a girl, but I was wrong! We were so excited to see our little baby moving around on the ultrasound, and we were both surprised to learn that it was a boy! We were both really happy that Braden would have a little brother. After the ultrasound, David started singing the theme from the show Two and 1/2 Men (men, men, men, men, manly men, men men...). We picked Braden up from Bill and Mary Frances's house after the appointment and told him all about it when we got home. We had kept the whole pregnancy a secret from him before today. We were eating, and I scooted my chair back a bit and sighed. Braden asked, "What's wrong mommy?" I said, "I'm really full," and Braden said, "Let me see your belly!" So, I stood up and showed him my big belly, and he said, "That's a LOT of food! It's almost as big as when I was in your tummy!" I looked up at David and mouthed, "Can I tell him NOW?" and got the approving nod. So, I told Braden that my belly was so big because there was a baby in it right now. Braden's eye's got big and then I told him that it is a baby brother. He was very excited. He got down next to my belly and tried to listen for the baby making noises. Then, he looked at my belly and said, "Hi, Baby!" Then, he asked if we could go to the hospital after his nap. We then talked a little bit about how long it would take for the baby to get here.
